[Karamatsu doesn't think this could have gone differently, really. He just...isn't like that. He might be oblivious and short-sighted on a good day, but he's nothing if not attached to the Naga, now. Maybe it would have been different if Rohan hated him and really meant to kill him...but then again, Ichimatsu is living proof that acts of hatred aren't enough to dissuade Karamatsu.
