But Ibuki had just started to move toward that vanity of his with the intent of putting the lyrics there herself, when suddenly he was lifting up some sort of bone colored things and saying something about having holes in her head and -

... Really? Like, really really? I mean, you're not wrong - Ibuki's got loads of holes she could put those in!

They are mine but I don't like how they look on me. Instead of letting them collect dust, I would rather give them to someone who will enjoy them.

[Said as she reaches for those earrings - but contrary to belief, she won't just snatch them from him.
Instead she simply holds out her hand, bouncing a bit next to him with excitement. Trying to be polite.]

He nearly reals back in a slither with the intention to shove her away-- but he doesn't. He lets her hang there and gives her a... pat on the back. Pat-pat. ]

Y-Yes, I'm glad you like them. [ Rohan forfeits them thusly. ] Let me see how they look. I might have some other things fitting your... aesthetic.

Taking the earrings from him, though, she scoots to a more open spot of whatever he calls a bed, stopping to look them over...

I mean, I'm not doubting Rohan-chan's word, of course! It's just so hard to get the right jewelry, y'know, and Ibuki only works with fabric... not metal.

[Right as Rohan says it's okay, Ibuki's going to do just that - sitting crosslegged next to him and sorting through what's on the bed.
So many cool things! So many sparkles and bones and all sorts of neat stuff! It's tempting to just try all of it on at the same time, honestly.
But she won't. Even though she really wants to.

She does lift a bracelet made of teeth up, though, to look at it like it's the coolest shit she's ever seen.]

Hmm... Y'know - Rohan-chan should use more spikes!
Spikes are pretty cool, right? Like Ibuki's barbed wire choker!

Ibuki's decided you've got the best taste in this entire place, though, mhm. Almost as great as her own!

[ Another person who thinks his eccentric line of fashion is The Best. Ahhh~ She's good to have around for the ego stroking alone. No, she's too endearing for that. Rambunctious girls seem to be a pattern with him. He isn't sure that he likes it. ]

I think I could manage that. [ It's nice watching her play with the bracelet, eyes shining and filled with wonder as she comes across the bracelet. He puts his chin on his hand. ]

You should see all of the things I can make. [ Pointing to the bookcase by the other wall filled with books upon books upon books. ] All of those are my sketch diaries that I have been working on since I first got here.

[ we're not talking about the jotaro book that one is a blessing and a mistake. ]

[Well, he does use bones and jewels. It's hard not to like things with at least one of those.
She'd been looking at a necklace when he mentioned his sketches though, immediately dropping it back in the pile to scramble off the bed and go see for herself.]

[... Asking's just a formality, sorry. Because even after asking, she's going to just nab one off of the bookshelf to look through.
With a touch of noticeable awe, of course. Ibuki can't draw herself, and she's pretty sure none of her class could, either...
So after a moment of looking through a couple pages, she turns to Rohan with a big, obviously delighted smile.]

Haaaa... Rohan-chan's sketches are as amazing as his paintings!
If Ibuki makes an album while she's here, could you draw the cover?

[ His true love is having people look at and enjoy his art. Nothing in the world makes him happier. In any of those books, she will find pages upon pages of people; monsters and humans who have turned. There is a repeating pattern of the mermaid on the wall at his shop with pictures of Jotaro in between. People who have come and gone are in there in various amounts but the two who stick out are the mermaid and the gargoyle.

Mock manga panels litter a few in a practice to make sure his skills at the root of his talent haven't atrophied. They show that he is happy with those things... Not many people have the luxury of seeing what makes him happy. ]

I would love to. I like taking jobs for people who will use it and admire it. Better yet, I can make you whatever you like. Just to share.

[Ibuki's just gonna grab a couple more, don't mind her. That way she can sit by him again, but still look through his art.
It's pretty obvious just how much she's enamored by it all, flipping through them with a sparkling expression.

At least, until he mentions making whatever she'd like. She snaps her head up at that, blinking a little owlishly in surprise.]

Whatever Ibuki likes? You mean... if Ibuki wanted you to draw a patch of clovers, you would?

My manga is a horror manga. The [ AIRQUOTES ] "Gory stuff" is sort of a specialty if you can call it that. That might be why I didn't shy when it came to hunting and my... unique eating habits.

[ Having "panicking" as a talent is-- well, she's a musician but okay whatever nothing surprises him anymore. ]

I can do all of that! [ Jesus, he sounds cheerful. With all of the glee. Finger steepling, claws clicking together. ] Frankly, I don't think I do enough of it! [ All rambunctious now, he snatches his book away, produces a pen out of NOWHERE and finds an empty-ish page to begin scrawling ideas on. ]

How about--... When people change, they get all kinds of crazy things! Did I tell you my legs melted off? Because I threw up on them?

[She's going to lean over to see what he's writing, then, and she couldn't be more excited if she tried.

Oh, oh; you said some monsters can get extra hands, right? Does that mean they get more arms?

[ This is both good and very sad. Two giant nerds nerding out over gross shit and trying on jewelry. ]

I didn't choose to have my legs melt off. It was shortly after I came here last year-- [ AROUND THIS TIME MAYBE? ] I had an awful toothache and a stomachache that I couldn't get rid of. I figured that I would walk it off or find an apothecary to help. [ He begins to scribble in the book some more and oh look there's Rohan in all his sketchy glory spewing up something in a spray and his legs are already drawn like they are rotting away. ]

The next thing I knew, I was retching up all of this black stuff-- Like the kind you see in my jars at the shop. I had apparently begun to produce mass amounts of stomach contents. I don't... remember a whole lot because I blacked out but when I woke up they were necrotized and sewing themselves together in a grand knit of scales!

[ He THUMPS!! his tail to punctuate it.

Little too happy to be talking about trauma. ]

Uwaaaah...! That's totally disgusting!

[But, of course, that's said with awe and admiration rather than any actual disgust. She's gonna lean even more to see that drawing of himself spewing everywhere, her eyes pretty much sparkling from both how fast he drew it and just how detailed it is.]

Rohan-chan's stomach turned against him!? That's so weird! That's so weird!
It's so weird, Ibuki's starting to repeat herself!!

Can you draw your legs turning into a tail, too!? Sewing themselves together, like you said!?

Yes, yes, let me see here... [ He falls silent as he goes about his business just drawing a little panel of himself waking up to his legs woven in on themselves with a mess of scales that start to taper painfully at his knees and thighs which are sloughing off to the bone. ]

And goodness when Jotaro scales came in, I had to flay his skin off with a knife and my venom...!

[Ibuki's quiet as long as Rohan is, satisfied with just watching him draw... and manages to resist the temptation to just take the picture away from him when he's done.
But she does let out some sort of excited squeal, at least.]

This is the best...! The best!! Rohan-chan could be the Super High School Level Horror Illustrator, if he was high school age! And also went to Hope's Peak!
Why did you have to take off his skin? Was it not coming off on its own? Were the scales sticking through and acting like gross little pins!?

Ugugugu... just trying to imagine it is blowing Ibuki's mind...!!

[And then an idea seems to hit Ibuki out of nowhere, even making her jump a bit like her own brain startled her.]

Wait, wait... can...
Can you draw Ibuki as a snake!? You could do that, couldn't you!?
Rohan-chan's talents are SKY HIGH, so Ibuki's certain you could!

[ Two radically different sides of the coin somehow. ]

It wasn't coming off enough to accommodate how his scales were coming through. It was one set of skin converging with another... [ He blinks at her, eyelashes fluttering when she states what she wants. ]

Draw you as a naga? Let me... See...

[ Shutting one eye, he tries to visualize what he can-- it doesn't take long. What takes shape on the next page is indeed a snake. In black and white, he has to simulate any colors she might have. Blue and pink scales intermingled on a black backdrop of noodly body. With her mouth open, she bares fangs as long as one's fingers, curved and dropped down just as his do when he's upset. Her hair is still there but it has become almost sentient. It fans out and rises like a makeshift hood to accompany and amplify the glowing from her eyes and the radical, wide-armed and claws-out pose she is sporting. ]

What do you think of this?

[In an over-dramatic fashion, Ibuki's hands fly to her cheeks, and she can't help wiggling in place seeing it. It's like he just told her she won the lottery or something...
But then again, he did just draw her as a giant snake monster.]

Even though it's in black and white, Ibuki can imagine all the colors perfect, too!

[ He needs to invest in a panic button with his coins so he can push it and summon Jotaro or somebody to pry this girl off of him. He ends up tilting all about, flapping an arm in the process. ]

Careful-- [ He lets out an exasperated whine. ] Do you want it? [ As his tail slips around to tug at her skirt to cue her OFF OF HIM. TUG. ] If you would like to keep it, you can. If it brings you so much entertainment, I can't just let it fester in my book...

[Silly Rohan, pulling at her skirt isn't enough to remove Ibuki! Though, she'll let go of him anyway.
Because she wants to take the picture instead, nodding her head vigorously in excitement.]

Yeah, yeah! IdoIdoIdo!!
Ibuki has to show Sonia-chan and Hiyoko-chan, of course! And hang it up somewhere in my room!
But, but! It's not entertainment, it's joy! Ibuki will cherish her special Rohan-chan Original featurin herself for a really long time, y'know?
